Save Our Seas

This past October I was the featured artist at Dbar Gallery, Point Danger, Coolangatta. I put together a body of work working on the conceptual theme of Saving our Seas. I used collected marine plastic from my local area and hand stitched it on to raw canvas, then I painted a mirror image or reflection in oil paint of the found object. The idea behind what I’m creating is to connect with the need to pick up marine plastics off the beach, something that can only be fixed by us, and that for every piece I have collected there is a lest one other floating in the sea.
